‘Relax’ by Cheri McEachin
There is no doubt in my mind that Cheri is an animal-whisperer. Her ability to capture the subtle expressions of animals with her close up portraits is amazing. Every crease, line and fold is carefully taken into account in her photos. The eye-catching details, from glowing eyes to tiny feathers you can almost hear rustling, transport the audience from a browsing voeyeur to an engaged participant in the animal’s thoughts and feelings.
I love the rustic quality of early Australian architecture - so much character packed within four humble walls. Paul Louis Villani’s series of early Australian homes is truly beautiful. From the angles he shoots, and the editing he applies, he manages to capture the soul and history of each home in such a warm and inviting way.
Emerging
If ever there was an artist who enjoys using textures, it is Thomas Dodd. His images, which are beautiful and evocative, show great understanding of Photoshop and its tools. While he would prefer to be considered a photographer, using all his own images, he shows great flair for manipulation and digital art.
…this image of Tiffany Dryburgh’s conjures up a story all on it’s own. It’s not merely a photograph of some pretty pink flowers gently bowing toward the sun, the white picket fence standing brightly in the background. It is so much more, I even wrote a brief piece about this photograph when I first came across it on RedBubble, found here.
Astrid Pardew has many great looking images of architecture and is just getting into editing her photos as seen in the above example The Citadel Ghost. Check out her great looking gallery.
Darren Burdell Child’s Play is an amazing piece of art. Beginning with the photo and then the post processing , Darren has made an outstanding almost surreal creation.
Cherie is an artist whose skill with pattern and colour is phenomenal. Using simple motiffs, Cherie enriches her subject and the canvas with her talent.
Her warm colour palette creates striking images that skillfully draw the eye through her other landscape compositions. See her RedBubble here
I’m not going to tell you much or big words about this artist (my poor english) just visit his RedBubble page & you ‘re going to agree with me for the title!!! RUBYRED
I really like the retro feel of this image. The warm tones, and selective lighting adds a lot to the mood invoked by this photo. It is part of a “Nostalgia” series created by Peter.
…we had a beautiful may bush growing in the garden. We would play all sorts of games, showering the delicate little white petals all over us so that it looked as if we had been caught out in the snow. We made the may bush our little hiding place - daydreaming about all sorts of things. That was a long time ago, and every time I look at Jay Cougar’s image Cold Flower, I am transported back to that time of innocence when life was so simple. Jay has an amazing way of tranforming the everyday, to an image that is simply extraordinary. Anything ordinary, or plain, or mundane is removed from his images, and replaced with an other-worldly effect that is simply beautiful.
