…we had a beautiful may bush growing in the garden. We would play all sorts of games, showering the delicate little white petals all over us so that it looked as if we had been caught out in the snow. We made the may bush our little hiding place – daydreaming about all sorts of things. That was a long time ago, and every time I look at Jay Cougar’s image Cold Flower, I am transported back to that time of innocence when life was so simple. Jay has an amazing way of tranforming the everyday, to an image that is simply extraordinary. Anything ordinary, or plain, or mundane is removed from his images, and replaced with an other-worldly effect that is simply beautiful.
