Discount Designer Luggage – What to Look for!

General
E. Thomas asked:

If you’re thinking of getting some discount Designer Luggage, you’ll need to know what to look for in order to avoid buying garbage, or worse…a fake! Take a look at these helpful hints on what to pay attention to when shopping for discount designer luggage!

First off, designer luggage comes in many different brands, colors, styles, shapes, and sizes. The material used to manufacture these luggage brands often much more durable and it’s often reflected in the price. It’s true that canvas or leather luggage lasts for longer periods, thus making it a popular choice amongst frequent travelers.

Another popular choice is Nylon luggage, due to it’s light-weight. However, these items are not that durable and attractive when you compare them with other types of discount designer luggage, such as leather. Not many of the top designers will even make a nylon piece of travel luggage. This may be one “warning sign” to look for when shopping. Just because a bag has a designer name on it, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s made from that designer. A label or patch can be added by dishonest people hoping to sell fake branded luggage. Nylon is a no-no if you’re looking for a good, designer bag!

In most cases, discount designer luggage is usually stylish and sturdier compared to other luggage as stated before. And, you can expect to pay a little extra, not only for the designer name, but for the quality and style that goes into the bag. While shopping, it is always necessary to buy discount designer luggage that is of better quality and of well known brands. Piere Cardin, Coach, Gucci and Louis Vuitton are all great designer luggage manufacturers and have some quality pieces!

Also, keep in mind that the luggage you buy should have the right size for a comfortable trip to/from the airport and the right style that suits the individual. What’s more, is that this discount designer luggage usually comes with la built-in locking mechanism so you don’t have to spring for a seperate lock and key. This helps to provide safety and security for luggage while staying in hotels or at airports. Once again, you get what you pay for with quality luggage. This is yet another feature that can be the difference from a fack or knock-off designer bag, and a real one!

If you’re reading this article, you are definitely looking to get some quality-made, discount designer luggage. You are a person who knows the value of a dollar, and that paying just a little extra in order to get a well put together bag will be the difference in keeping your luggage for a long time, or having it fall apart after one trip! Getting discount designer luggage can be pretty easy if you know where to go! However, make sure the bags are authentic and that you’re getting what you pay for!

Description & List of Popular Designer Dog Breeds

General
Kelly Marshall asked:

If you have been following the latest trends and changes in dog breeding you may have come across the term “designer dogs”. These are, in fact, simply mixed breeds that are crossed to produce a specific physical appearance, usually easily identified as a cross between the two breeds. The breeders attempt to include only the desirable traits of the two parents while minimizing the chance of physical or health issues between the cross.

Some of the more common or popular designer dogs are:

· Labradoodle – a cross between a Labrador retriever and a Standard Poodle. Considered to have the non-shedding and easy care coat of a poodle combined with the poodle’s intelligence and the wonderful, loving personality of the Lab.

· Porkie – a cross between a Pug and a Yorkie. A small dog that is heartier than the standard Yorkie with longer hair and the easygoing temperament of the Pug.

· Cockapoo – a cross between a cocker spaniel and a poodle. Often considered an intelligent, low shedding small breed that is great for families.

· Schnoodle – cross between a Schnauzer and a Poodle, again with an attempt to have an intelligent, non-shedding companion dog.

· Daisy Dog – a three way cross between a poodle and Shih Tzu parent and a Bichon. These dogs are reported to be very calm and excellent companion dogs for traveling or living in small spaces.

· Poogle– cross between a poodle and a beagle. Small sized dog that energetic and easy to train.

· Puggle – Pug and a beagle. These are very friendly dogs that love to be involved in all aspects of the family.

Most of the designer dogs have a poodle in the mix simply because poodles are know to be excellent non-shedding dogs and also are very intelligent. The three different sizes of poodles also make them a great breed for mixing with various dog breeds.

It is important to remember that these crosses have occurred in the past; it is just now that they are being recognized. As with all breeds of dogs there are good breeding dogs and dogs that should not be crossed due to health conditions or temperaments.

A designer dog, also called a hybrid, is not recognized by the Kennel Clubs, although many agencies are trying to develop registries for these breeds. Be aware that many of these dogs are more expensive than either one of their purebred parents, but do not have any standing with breed registries. Many shelter dogs are mixed breeds that are looking for a loving home and are available at a fraction of the cost that some breeders are asking.

Designer dogs may also have a variety of health concerns and conditions. Do not mistakenly believe that all hybrids are naturally healthy and immune from genetic conditions, in fact they may have just as many health concerns as purebred dogs. Be sure to check the temperament of the parents, and choose a breed that is one you really want, not just the “trendy” dog of the day.

Spanish Christian Music

General
Elizabeth Morgan asked:

Similar to Spanish folklore, Spanish Christian music is an expression of the various emotions and values that a person holds dear in life or the knowledge and beliefs that a person has. Even the Spanish Zarzuela that is a drama-musical combining dialogues and music can be acknowledged as having paved the way for Christian music, as most of its themes touches on religious beliefs.

The popularity of Spanish Christian music is presently on the rise, and is attributed to the growth in Christian music worldwide. Historically, Gospel music, in whatever language, was distributed for sale on a regional basis only. Nowadays, there is a clamor for the availability of Christian music translated into Spanish and/or original Spanish Christian music in the United States. Based on 2000 data by the Federal Census, 12% of the United States’ population is Hispanic or approximately 35.3 million people. Given the purchasing power of the Latin music lover translating to at least one CD a week, recording companies are busy producing with Spanish music that glorifies God and contains religious themes.

Alongside the demand for Spanish Christian music is the birth of a number of Latin Christian artists. These artists are Spanish singers, composers, songwriters and record producers. The appeal of the Spanish Christian artists is broad in scope, attracting Hispanics and non-Hispanic listeners who appreciate what Spanish music has to offer. The message remains — Christian values and faith.

Given the success of a number of Spanish Christian talents, the Spanish recording companies do effectively compete with its US counterparts in terms of product standards. There is a need to maintain this momentum in order to gain further ground in the arena of Christian music. This poses a challenge to the Hispanics to continually develop their spiritual musical skills. Spanish Christian music is definitely here to stay for everyone to appreciate.

Famous Interior Designers and Their Styles in Interior Design – Part 1

General
Innis Desborough asked:

Introduction

This series of 4 articles takes a brief but informative look at 21 of the most famous and Interior Designers, from the earliest pioneers right through to the most celebrated modern day designers.

The Pioneers of Interior Design

Jean-Henri Jansen (1854-1928)

Dutch designer, Jean-Henri Jansen, launched one of the first ever international interior design companies ‘Maison Jansen’ (House of Jansen) in 1880, which became renowned for designing and creating exceptionally beautiful and high quality furniture which would be utilized in a multitude of interior decoration projects. House of Jansen opened branches in 8 of the major cities of the world. Jansen worked closely with the talented interior designer Stephane Boudin whom he made director of the company. The clients of House of Jansen included Royalty and the rich and famous.

Elsie de Wolfe (1865-1950)

The first lady of interior decoration, Elsie de Wolfe considered herself an ‘ugly child’. This Victorian stage actress was a rebel of her times and was credited by many to be the inventor of the modern profession of interior design, even though there were already established interior designers in her time. Elsie disliked Victorian tastes altogether, her designs were therefore generally made up of light and bright colors, contrary to the drab and gloomy Victorian décor coupled with unnecessary excesses such as heavy velvet draperies. This was a pioneering departure from the contemporary designs of the time. Elsie’s influence continues to be felt in the modern world of interior design.

Ogden Codman (1863-1951)

American interior decorator and architect, Ogden Codman spent his childhood in his birthplace of Boston before heading to France in his youth for a period of time. Codman had two uncles who influenced him tremendously – architect John Hubbard and decorator Richard Ogden. Some of Ogden Codman’s works include Edith Wharton’s Newport home, Land’s End, the Rockefeller family estate of New York client John D. Rockefeller, Jr. and the Newport summer home of Cornelius Vanderbilt II. Along with novelist Edith Wharton, Codman co-authored a guidepost of American interior design, ‘The Decoration of Houses’ in 1897.

Frances Elkins (1888-1953)

Born in Milwaukee, Frances Adler Elkins was one of the most prominent interior decorator and designer of the previous century. Sister of the famed Chicago architect David Adler, Elkins was known for her futuristic designs that brought together different styles and elements from various periods. They included country French styles, chinoiserie and art deco. The furnishings featured in her designs included designers such as Jean-Michel Frank and Alberto Giacometti. The career of Elkins that spanned over three decades is glittered with many high profile commissions in Hawaii, the Midwest and northern and southern California, none more interesting than the restoration of the 1830s structure, Casa Amesti in Monterrey, California.

Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959)

Frank Lloyd Wright was an interior designer and architect whose career included more than 1000 projects, 500 of them that have been complete. Wright was known for his promotion of organic architecture, an example of which is Fallingwater. The Robie House is an example of Wright’s leadership of the Prairie School architectural movement, while the Rosenbaum House depicts Wright’s Usonian home concept. Wright also had refreshing ideas for every kind of building, be it church, office, school, hotel or museum. Along with excellent architectural renderings, Wright also designed much of the interiors of his buildings including the Décor, layout and furniture.

Graphics

General
Kent Pinkerton asked:

The history of graphics dates back to prehistoric times when symbols and pictures were the main ways to communicate. Graphics represents any kind of imaginary or real life visuals such as drawings, photographs, line art, diagrams, symbols, maps, etchings, technical drawings or designs made on any surface like paper, wall, canvas or computer. Graphics are used for various purposes such to convey messages, simplify textual information, organize or entertain. They can be black and white, grayscale, or colored; with or without text; and simple or complicated.

Graphics is not only an art and painting form to enhance documents but an important accessory. It makes text lively and more understandable. Graphics add value to documents by clarifying, simplifying and illustrating contents written in text and attract the interest of readers. Graphics find use in newspapers, magazines, technical drawings, financial charts, advertising, educational material, presentations, online material, CDs, design work, computer games, and more. The study and use of graphics is taught in detail in graphic design courses and such professionals are known as graphic designers.

Graphics can be created from hand drawings, computer programs or photography. Many readymade graphics are available for use depending on terms and conditions. Graphics can also be scanned from printed material. Graphics can be used for small school, home or office projects as well as in graphic design studios by graphic designers. Computerized graphics can be static as well as animated. Animated graphics are much in demand for clipart, bullets, backgrounds, websites, e-cards and films. Computerized graphics are available in various file formats like JPEG and BMP and used depending on the end product and hard disk space they occupy. For websites or emails, formats like JPEG are used, which occupy less space and thus do not hamper the speed of downloading. For print material, heavier file sizes can be used as they will result in sharper prints and retain fineness while manipulating sizes. It is the age of computers and so graphic design is mostly done using software packages. Software programs also allow beautiful special effects which may not be possible otherwise.

Thus, we see that graphics are an indispensable form of art which not only beautify but are a powerful means of visual representations. ‘A picture speaks a thousand words’ is what we all know and appreciate but graphics must be utilized sensibly to realize their full potential.

Making Stunning Designs With Abstract Metal Wall Art

Abstract design use colors, shapes, and lines to create art that does not reference literally our physical environment. Still, often art objects created in the abstract style will suggest things in the world. A work with flower pedal like shapes of bright colors could invoke a floral or garden theme. A sun room over looking a garden with an abstract metal wall art piece that invokes garden type themes would unify the purpose of the sun room and flower garden.
